Annual Arkansas INBRE Research Conference
The 2-day statewide Arkansas INBRE Research Conference is an annual highlight that brings together students, faculty, researchers, and guests from lead institutions and 4-year colleges throughout Arkansas. Since the first conference in fall 2002, the number of attendees has grown from less than 100 to more than 400 students and faculty. The Conferences are held at UAF, which has the facilities and cultural attractions that are important for a successful meeting. Key features of the annual conference include a distinguished keynote speaker, invited faculty speakers from Arkansas, research and career workshops, student poster and oral presentation competition, and vendor displays of state-of-the-art equipment.
Goals of the INBRE Outreach Program:
To increase the number of college and university faculty in Arkansas with active funded research programs in biomedical science.
To increase the number of undergraduate students in Arkansas who pursue careers in biomedical science.
The goals of the Outreach Core are to be achieved through support of collaborative research projects supervised by mentors with research interests in common with undergraduate faculty and students. Mentors in the AR INBRE are researchers at one of the three lead AR INBRE institutions, University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, University of Arkansas at Little Rock or University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. A current list of available mentors is found under Thematic Research Areas.
